17 Sep Authority Compliances for Workers’ Dormitory For Qualified Persons

Running from 2026 to 2030, the Dormitory Transition Scheme (DTS) is a Ministry of Manpower (MOM) initiative to uplift migrant worker living conditions and strengthen public health resilience against future outbreaks. Around 1,000 dormitories will be upgraded under this programme.
This 2-day authority compliance course focuses on submission and design considerations for Factory Converted Dormitories (FCDs), empowering Qualified Persons to provide informed advisory services to dormitories undergoing the DTS.
This course is accredited for 12 CPD points by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) and 5 CPD points by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA).

About the Trainer:

Ar Chai Jun Yea is the principal architect of design@LOFT architects, specializing in converting factories and warehouses into safe, compliant workers’ quarters. He holds a Master of Architecture from NUS and certifications as a Green Mark Manager and Design for Safety Professional.
As part of his CSR mission, he has also embarked on a training programme to equip the next generation of architects with the right knowledge and understanding to help more employers to comply with the rules and regulations concerning factory converted dormitories.
